Bonsai is an art form that uses design principles and sound horticultural practices to train small trees in shallow pots so that they take on the appearance, expression and even the feeling of a tree in a natural environment, all the while remaining true to scale. Join members of the Bonsai Society of Winnipeg for a session on this art form. There will be a few established bonsai specimens used for demonstration and act as visual aids in the discussion of how they are collected, styled, developed, and maintained. Time, patience and long-term vision are required for bonsai, but we know you will want to try your hand at some of these techniques. You will go home with information and ideas on how to get started at this art form.

Presented by Paul Collard from the Bonsai Society of Winnipeg.
