What is a Master Gardener?

Group of enthusiastic volunteers, who work together to support the delivery of quality education to our membership and environmentally responsible gardening advice to the public. Our members can come from anywhere in Manitoba. Most are enthusiastic amateurs; some are experienced professionals — all have a passion for gardening. Planning for a Master Gardeners Association for Manitoba is in progress.

What does a Master Gardener Do?

We provide information about gardening to the community and educate people in environmentally responsible gardening practices. We share this information with the public and promote the enjoyment of gardening through a variety of volunteer projects & activities.

Did you know?

The Master Gardener Program started at Washington State University in the 1970s. The Program was formed to address a need to deal with an overwhelming public demand for information regarding local gardening questions and problems. Today Master Gardener groups can be found in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Nova Scotia and 46 U.S. states.
