Gordon Bone, B.E.S., M.L.Arch., C.A.E., was born and raised in Winnipeg, completed degrees in Environmental Studies (1979) and Landscape Architecture (1985) at U of MB. More recently obtained a Certificate in Adult Education (2010) at Red River College. From 1986 into 1998, he worked with several local companies as a landscape designer, construction supervisor, and property maintenance manager, the latter 7 years with Shelmerdine Landscaping division. In 1998 he accepted an instructor’s position in the newly established Greenspace Management Program at Red River College, a dream job for 22 years, abruptly cancelled June 2018. He retired from RRC following 4-1/2 years as Landscaping & Grounds Maintenance Supervisor in Jan 2024. Other industry activities include significant contributions to: Manitoba Nursery & Landscape Assoc. (33 yrs); National Technical Committee for Skills Canada – Landscape Gardening Competition (17 yrs); Provincial judge for Communities In Bloom (11 yrs); Manitoba Association of Landscape Architects (3 yrs). Gord has conceded to the status of “life-long learner” . . . because a lifetime isn’t long enough to know-it-all!”

  • Doors open at 6:30, the program runs from 7 to 8 with tea and snacks.
  • Please feel free to bring dainties to share.
  • We encourage you to bring a mug.
  • The evening is free for members, $5 for non-members (or $10 for membership if you would like to join).

  • We are in the Conference Room (#17 on the map) located at 600 Shaftesbury. The parking lot (Lot N) is available for us. Please use the main doors on South (between #20 & 21).
