Growing Mushrooms and Herbs – Winnipeg Public Library

Did you know that mushrooms can be grown both indoors and outdoors? Join Donna Kurt of the Herb Society of Manitoba to learn about growing mushrooms with herbs! This presentation will focus on companion planting, discussing which herbs can easily share a garden bed with mushrooms. Specimens will be available for participants to learn more about the different types of mushrooms described.

Donna Kurt has studied mushrooms informally since 1988, and formally at the University of Winnipeg since 2015. She has given workshops and led forays for mushrooms and other plants since 2008. She has an International Permaculture Certificate and has studied Indigenous Ethnobotany and Food Systems, Aquatic and Forest Ecology, Botany of Manitoba and Medicinal Plants since 2015. At home, Donna has numerous fungi friends in her yard and garden.
