Monday, February 2 Program Evening: “Prairie Perks /Gardening with Native Plants” with Kelly Leask from Prairie Originals
Join Kelly from Prairie Originals to explore the importance and benefits of including native plants in the urban landscape from conserving resources to reducing garden chores. Meet some hardy local plants that can help to invite more birds, butterflies and bees to your yard while adding beauty to the landscape. Learn tips for starting and maintaining your own prairie wildflower garden.

Kelly Leask is the owner of Prairie Originals, a native plant nursery near Selkirk, MB. She has been working in the native plant industry since 2013. She is a gardening educator, Master Composter, seed saver and co-founder of the Winnipeg Wildflower Project. Kelly is excited by purposeful and productive gardens and greenspaces that contribute to improving the common environment for people and wildlife alike.
Event Information:
- Doors open at 6:30, the program runs from 7 to 8.
- Please feel free to bring dainties to share.
- We encourage you to bring a mug.
- Directions to the parking lot and conference room are below. Please see attached map.
- We are in the Conference Room A01 (#17 on the map) located at Canadian Mennonite University, 600 Shaftesbury (south campus, south of Grant). The parking lot (Lot N) is available for us. Please use the main doors on South (between #20 & 21).
